When I go to the gym, I am not wearing any type of accesory; no rings, no earings, no watch, no nothing. I think there is a time and place for all those things. I feel more comfortable wearing only the basic stuff, a t-shirt, spandex pants, socks and shoes. Under wear first that all that, of course.
Many times I see girls wearing big earings when they are working out. It attracs my attention because I have a feeling that is all part of the eagerness to look and feel pretty everywhere every time, and the gym couldn’ be the exception being this a place where the worshipping to a well formed body with right muscular proportions perfectly distributed creates an environment that demands much more beauty, from certain point of view.
Once upon a time, long long ago, I think 4 or 5 years ago, while I was training in a different gym, one of the boys whom I talked to once in a while noticed that little detail. He approached me, touched my ear very nicely and sweetly with one of his hand while smiling and saying: “Why don’t you wear earings? To not look pretty?” I replied: ” I come here to train not to look pretty”. And I smiled back.
Not wearing earings is also a preventive measure. There are girls that wear them too long or too round or too flamboyant and I don’t see any need of that. One goes to a gym to do some excercises, to move, to sweat, even to get a little messy hair, especially us women that have to be putting the hair away from the face constantly. The body needs to be unleash as much as possible and in total disposition to the excercises, putting aside things that are not required for that.
The other thing is the make up. There is one girl that reminds me so much of this rag dolls, for the way she does her hair and her make up to go working out. I know what I am talking about and realized that is total fresh make up, she doesn’t get there from work nor school neither something like that, it shows that she grooms for the gym. What’s the point of wearing make up for the gym? I don’t know whether I am being too severe or what but that is the last straw, in my humble opinion.
